Top Luxury Wedding Venues in Jamaica
I'm Garfield, a Jamaica-based wedding and family photographer working under RMP Weddings. Over the past year I've photographed family and couples sessions at most of the resorts below, and shot weddings and family sessions at several of the private villas — which means I already know how these locations photograph long before your wedding day arrives. Here's my honest, on-the-ground guide to the island's most beautiful high-end wedding settings.
Montego Bay
Round Hill Hotel & Villas
A timeless, old-money elegance with private villas set into the hillside above the Caribbean Sea. I've photographed family sessions here, and the combination of manicured gardens and open sea views gives a wedding gallery a quiet, editorial feel without needing to try too hard.
Half Moon
400 acres of beachfront, tropical gardens, and private coves. Half Moon offers so much variety in one property that a single day of shooting can feel like three different weddings — beach ceremony, garden cocktail hour, elegant reception.
The Tryall Club
Sprawling great house grounds and private villas along the coast — built for multi-day celebrations and larger guest lists without losing that personal, estate-wedding feeling.
Negril
The Caves
Built into the West End cliffs, with wooden decks suspended over turquoise water. Small and deeply personal — perfect for elopements and micro-weddings where sunset is basically a guest of honor.
Rockhouse Hotel
Thatched-roof cliffside villas and an eco-luxe feel that photographs beautifully in golden hour. I've shot family sessions at Rockhouse, and it suits couples drawn to a barefoot, unpolished kind of elegance.
Ocho Rios
GoldenEye
Ian Fleming's former estate, now a boutique hideaway of lagoon cottages and private beach huts. GoldenEye is for couples who want something intimate, lush, and a little bit secret — the kind of place where the light through the palms does half the work for me.
Jamaica Inn
A quiet, old-Jamaica classic with a private beach and a genteel, storybook charm. Fewer crowds, softer light — ideal for documentary-style coverage where I can just let the day unfold.
Sandals Royal Plantation
Boutique, all-butler luxury with a colonial-great-house aesthetic. A strong choice for couples who want a resort wedding that still feels curated and private rather than large-scale.
Private Villas
Prospect Estate — Frankfort Villa, Ocho Rios
I've photographed both weddings and family sessions at Frankfort Villa, part of the 1,000-acre Prospect Plantation estate just outside Ocho Rios. The private beach and open lawns give a wedding day room to breathe, with the Caribbean Sea as a constant backdrop — it's one of my favorite villa settings for larger celebrations.
Prospect Estate — Eight Rivers Villa, Ocho Rios
I've also shot weddings and family sessions at Eight Rivers, also on the Prospect Estate waterfront. It has an elegant, European-inflected style with a gazebo right on the rocky shoreline — a natural spot for a ceremony, and one of the more intimate villa settings on the estate.
Fortlands Point, Discovery Bay
I've photographed weddings and family sessions at Fortlands Point, a fully staffed 9-bedroom villa set on a dramatic peninsula between Montego Bay and Ocho Rios, with water on three sides and three private beaches to work with. It's a striking option for couples who want a fully private property rather than a resort setting, with room for celebrations up to about 100 guests.
Planning a wedding at one of these venues?
Wherever you say "I do" in Jamaica, my approach stays the same: less posing, more living. I'm there to capture the real moments — the laugh before the vows, the walk down to the beach, the way the light hits everyone at golden hour — not to stage a magazine spread.
